Glossary

Terminology is often the most confusing part of learning about something new and the words used in the fields of biology and paleontology can be complex. The names assigned to living organisms are often derived from the languages of Greek, Latin, or a mix of both, and thus may be unfamiliar to many people. This section is intended to provide definitions and translations to some of the unusual words used in this site, hopefully allowing scientific language to be better understood and easier to learn.
